At Nels we build, assemble and store all physical models on-site for ease of modification and to ensure quality control for our clients.

 

Our Cold flow 3D models range from 1/12 to full scale, and are fabricated with the utmost attention to detail to ensure that all necessary elements to properly simulate the system are included.

 

Additionally, we construct our flow models to maximize flow visualization and ease of measurement for critical performance criteria. We have the capacity to simulate flow distribution, temperature and gas mixing. As well as, two phase  (water-gas or particulate-gas) conditions to determine to deposition zones, particulate distributions and erosion problem areas.

Typical projects our CFD modeling team undertake include pollution control, combustion and species injection optimization.

 

We are also capable of optimizing system pressure losses, velocity distributions, temperature mixing, species mixing and concentrations.

 

Furthermore, we can also provide particulate tracking/concentration, droplet  trajectories and evaporation, acoustical characteristics and heat transfer study services.

In our experience utilizing detailed CFD models coupled with our physical modeling process, has proven to be successful at obtaining cost effective and practical solutions for a wide range of flow related problems. By combining the best elements of each modeling technique an optimized solution is rapidly developed, effectively reducing project turn-over time for our clients.

Although we can perform standard testing for RATA/EPA compliance; it's our diagnostic skills and innovative approach which includes design and implementation of custom instrumentation/test methodologies that sets us apart from standard testing groups. Using our experience in solving flow related issues, our technicians can provide preliminary diagnosis and solution development to performance problems on a large variety of pollution control and combustion related equipment
